For over 30 years, the FNEL NGDO has played a crucial role in the field of education in Nepal. The Project Officer is responsible for managing FNEL's development cooperation projects. He/she is the central point of contact for our local partners, the Luxembourg partners, the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs (MAEE), the Ministry of Environment, Climate and Biodiversity (MECB) and works closely with the coordinator, the Management Committee and the Board of Directors.

 

 

Position : Project Manager (permanent contract, full-time, 40h/week with possibility of adaptation if necessary)

Location: Luxembourg City

 

Responsibilities :

  • Project Management: Supervision of the implementation and development of the 15 projects in Nepal, including financial monitoring and reporting to the governing bodies and partner ministries.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Carrying out external evaluations and, on the basis of the findings and recommendations, working out improvements with the Nepalese partners.
  • Field Missions: Organising and carrying out 2 to 3 annual monitoring missions in Nepal to ensure the progress and effectiveness of projects.
  • Communication and Fundraising: Management of digital communications linked to projects and partners and support for fundraising activities.

 

Profile required:

  • Education: Minimum of 3 years bachelor degree in a field relevant to development cooperation.
  • Experience: 2 to 3 years in managing similar projects.
  • Language skills: Perfect command of English and French (written and spoken). Knowledge of Luxembourgish or Nepali would be an asset. 
  • Technical skills: Proficiency with standard IT tools (Microsoft Office).
  • Personal qualities: Excellent communication skills, organisational skills, ability to analyse and summarise, flexibility and ability to work independently and as part of a team in a multicultural environment.
